Sykes Pumps first arrived in the UAE in 1976, when the company was involved with Costain International for the dewatering of the Al Shindagha Tunnel under the Dubai Creek. This is the oldest and busiest tunnel of Dubai today. From our work on that project, we partnered with top local contractor Khansaheb Civil Engineering L.L.C. A depot was set up in the industrial region in neighbouring emirate Sharjah, just outside of Dubai.
The company was immediately successful and in the same year a Khansaheb Sykes branch was opened in Dubai, followed only two years later by another depot in the emirate of Abu Dhabi in order to service the centre and south of the country.
Our extensive experience with the specific dewatering circumstances in the UAE make us the country’s most specialised and successful dewatering company, and has led to our expansion in the region over the years. Please find details of our four UAE depots below:
